Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
West Bengal's weather forecast presents a mix of sporadic rains and intensifying summer temperatures, with Kolkata expecting light rain accompanied by thunder over the next two days, as indicated by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). While some relief may be anticipated in the form of light rain, IMD predicts that the mercury will soar to 40 degrees Celsius in western districts like Purulia, Bankura, West Midnapore, and West Burdwan by the first week of April.
IMD's orange alert for Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, and Kalimpong districts signals potential hailstorms or thunderstorms, with lightning and gusty winds. Meanwhile, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, North Dinajpur, South Dinajpur, and Malda districts anticipate moderate rain with thunder until Sunday. Despite varying temperatures across districts, IMD officials foresee minimal changes in maximum temperatures over the next five days.
